Joint Book Launch on Wednesday 24 February
Date Published: 18 February 2010
Wednesday 24 February, 5.30pm at Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre
Tim Peat Ashworth & Alex Wildwood
Rooted in Christianity, Open to New Light: Quaker Spiritual Diversity
The two authors developed Woodbrooke’s ‘Rooted in Christianity, Open to New Light’ project, which has travelled around many Quaker meetings in Britain. This is the book arising from the project, in which they explore the issues that spiritual diversity raises for Quakers individually and corporately, and the challenges and rewards of being a diverse, inclusive community of faith.
Ben Pink Dandelion
Celebrating the Quaker Way
This pocket-sized book by Ben Pink Dandelion celebrates the Quaker way and affirms the wonderful riches of the Quaker tradition in Britain, and the Quaker ‘Liberal tradition’ more widely. It is a book for Quakers rather than about them. It talks of ‘us’ and ‘we’ and is for ‘insiders’. It is a devotional book, for us.
Both books are a product of Woodbrooke’s work.
The launch will include introductions from Woodbrooke’s director Jennifer Barraclough and Juliet Prager from The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust. There will be a chance to buy the books at a discounted rate and have them signed by the authors.
Admission to the launch is free. An optional meal can be booked for £9.50. Please call 0121 472 5171 to book.
