Friends in Residence
Friendly and outgoing people who enjoy meeting people from a wide variety of backgrounds are welcome to apply to come to Woodbrooke for any period from 2 weeks to 3 months to join our 'Worship and Welcome' team. Some like to return for several short stays each year. It is necessary to have strong connections to a local Quaker Meeting, either as a member or attender.
We need people who have stamina for late evenings, early mornings and occasional disturbed nights, and who are generally physically fit. The Friends in Residence act as temporary 'elders' for Woodbrooke's worship, and are responsible for the welcoming atmosphere which our visitors appreciate. They also support Woodbrooke in many other activities such as bulk mailings, cupboard tidying, gardening....
In return you will have the opportunity to live here and attend courses. Meals are provided for volunteers whilst they are helping at Woodbrooke.
