About Woodbrooke
Worship Life
We have a meeting for worship at 8.30 - 9:00 am Mondays to Saturdays. Meeting for worship is for all those staying here who want to be there. On Sundays we encourage residents and longer stay visitors to attend local Quaker meetings; if you are a course participant, worship will be part of your Sunday morning programme.
We have a short epilogue at the end of each day, usually at 9.30 pm for 10 - 15 minutes. It is a time when those here in Woodbrooke for different purposes come together as a community at the end of the day. Led by different people each day, we may have words or music or silence or pictures - it's always a surprise. A wide range of people stay at Woodbrooke, and at epilogue we don't assume that all are Quakers.
There is also a Silent Room indoors for private prayer and reflection, and a summerhouse in the garden for the same purpose.
At lunch, we usually begin with a short time of silent thanksgiving. At the evening buffet meal, there is a short pause for silent thanksgiving during the meal.
