Young Adult Leadership Programme

Are you aged between 19 and 30 or know someone who is? 
Woodbrooke's year-long Leadership Programme for Young Adult Friends (YAFs) is a fantastic opportunity for YAFs to strengthen their knowledge of the Quaker faith and its history and develop many practical skills to help them in the workplace and in their day to day lives.

 What will YAFs gain from taking part?
  • A greater understanding of Quaker history and processes
  • Developed personal spiritual practices
  • An understanding of leadership within Quakers and the wider world
  • An opportunity to develop your practical skills for your professional, voluntary and spiritual lives
  • Increased involvement in your Quaker community 
  • Developed facilitation and group work skills
  • You can also take part in three short courses at Woodbrooke for half the normal price.
What topics will be covered in the programme?
A broad range of themes will be approached, including Quakerism and what it means to be a Quaker today, leadership, living in the world and personal development. These will be taught using a variety of interactive and engaging methods including discussions, worship sharing, art, online materials, forums and journaling as well as formal teaching sessions.
The programme will involve two residential stays at Woodbrooke, and another at Swarthmoor Hall in Cumbria – a great opportunity to meet like-minded YAFs and share experiences. 
  • First residential: 29 June - 9 July 2017 at Woodbrooke
  • Mid-term weekend residential: 2 - 4 February 2018 at Swarthmoor Hall in Cumbria
  • Final residential: 12 - 22 July 2018 at Woodbrooke


The price for 207/18 is £1,825.
