Are you a new, prospective or less experienced Quaker Clerk? Join this online course to explore the different aspects and expectations of a clerk’s role before, during and after Meeting for Worship for Business.

Beginning by considering the spiritual dimension of clerkship, we will also spend time looking at why we use our particular way of making decisions in Quaker meetings and discussing clerking online.

There will be a focus on clerking local meetings, though clerks of other meetings and Quaker groups, including area meetings, will also learn much about clerking responsibilities that is relevant to these roles.

Gain understanding and confidence in your role through activities, resources, weekly live Zoom sessions and an online discussion forum. The course is led by two tutors with extensive experience of clerkship in a variety of Quaker contexts.

There will be some material to look at before the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).
