Essentials of Quaker Eldership - all sessions

Woodbrooke and Quakers in Britain working in partnership.

What are the four pillars of Quaker faith and practice that are at the foundation of being Quaker, and especially the role of a Quaker elder? Whether you are new or returning to the role, or simply curious about Quaker eldership this first session in our Essentials of Quaker Eldership series will refresh and clarify your understanding.

Being a Quaker elder can be inspiring but also challenging. This monthly space on the second Monday of every month is a space for those with eldership responsibilities or who are interested in the practice of Quaker eldership to come together to consider and learn how to be an elder in your Quaker community.

This January ‘Foundation’ session is not a requirement to attend the monthly series, but it helps you to get the most out of:
• 8 February: Quaker Eldership and Meeting for Worship
• 8 March: Quaker Eldership and Vocal Ministry
• 12 April: Quaker Eldership and Meeting for Worship for Business

These are not drop-ins but you can book right up to the start of the session at 7pm.

This course will involve:

Discussion, Workshop, Written and visual, Zoom Session
