In this session, we will explore eco-theologies of liberation, and what they have to teach us about the nature of racial, gender, and economic justice. The central question at the heart of the discussion will be: ‘Who is my neighbour’? (Luke 10:25-37).
What might Christian theology look like when it is rooted in the struggles of oppressed people for dignity, justice and life? How can faith inspire social change and speak from the margins? This series explores liberation theology’s insights on freedom, abundance and justice today.
Together, we will hear from an exciting panel of theologian-activists: Xavier Johnson, Cherice Bock and Leah D. Schade. Running through this rich and multilayered conversation will be a set of key reflections on the connections between planet and faith, politics and prayer, love and justice. This session will particularly appeal to Friends who want to discover compelling spiritual resources to ground, sustain, and extend their understanding of our Quaker Testimony to Earthcare.
In this session we will have the opportunity to listen to the panel, engage in individual reflection, group discussion and Q&A with the speakers.
