Good News? Reclaiming Evangelism for Religious Liberals

Tuesday 20 October 2026

Good News

Can Liberal Quakers, and other religious liberals, do evangelism? Do we have any “good news”? Is it ethical to evangelise in a diverse society? This talk and discussion will explore what it might mean to do evangelism with a liberal theology and practice.

This session will explore the challenges of having “good news” when we practice a faith that values diversity within, and outside, of our community. We will wrestle with whether it’s possible to do “evangelism” in a way that is ethical and generous in a diverse and complicated world, and what that might look like in practice.
