Woodbrooke and the Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) working in partnership.
In this second session of our series exploring the work of the Quaker United Nations Office, we will hear about the challenges and opportunities for Quaker witness for peace and disarmament at the UN.
The systems and cultures that perpetuate violence, discrimination and the destruction of our planet can feel impossible to challenge as an individual. In this series, we will hear from staff at the Quaker United Nations Office in Geneva about what they are doing in our name.
As tensions and conflicts spiral and re-armament escalates, the necessity of speaking for peace and working to “turn swords into ploughshares” is critical. In this session, we will learn about QUNO’s past and present efforts to support international work to foster peace and disarmament.
These sessions will be delivered by Woodbrooke staff and QUNO staff working in collaboration. They will involve a mix of presentations, small group exploration in breakout rooms and whole group discussion. A resource document will be shared with participants after the session to suggest further places you can learn about, engage with and support QUNO’s work.
This course will involve:
Discussion, Speaker, Workshop, Written and visual, Zoom Session
