Centering Prayer is a simple spiritual practice used by those of all faiths and none. It opens us to the presence of God, ultimate reality, and can help us live well into our growing edge, grounding our action in the world.
We will use the practice to explore our growing edge, as described by Howard Thurman: “Look well to the growing edge. All around us worlds are dying and new worlds are being born; all around us life is dying and life is being born. The fruit ripens on the tree, the roots are silently at work in the darkness of the earth against a time when there shall be new leaves, fresh blossoms, green fruit. Such is the growing edge.”
The six weekly sessions of this course will welcome those new to Centering Prayer and provide support to those with more experience. We’ll include introductory talks, time for reflection and sharing, and, above all, practice. Over the six weeks, you’ll be encouraged to use the practice and to share your thoughts and insights in the live Zoom sessions.
This course will involve:
Discussion, Online Learning Materials, Online discussion forum, Written and visual, Zoom Session
