What new ways of seeing the world become possible when we learn to meet each other in our full complexity and interdependency? Drawing on Nora Bateson’s practice of ‘Warm Data’,
In a world that can often feel fragmented, the Warm Data practice is not about problem-solving but about discovering multiple perspectives and possibilities by listening, sharing, and tending to what is moving and alive. It’s an opportunity to embrace complexity, to explore what it’s possible to say and who it’s possible to be, and to find our way together to new responses to the challenges we face through intergenerational mutual learning.
Moved by the Quaker practice of walking at the edge – of social witness, of the discipline of silence and speaking, of connecting to the sacred in the every day – in these critical times, we wish to invite a space of collective play and participation. We might indirectly explore family, education, home, food, health or identity… in the context of a complex and changing world, along with what is essential and what is relevant. It’s a space where we can connect, see and develop a felt understanding of the underlying patterns that shape all our lives, with no pressure to be anything other than who/how you are.
“How do we think our way through the messes we’re in when the way we think is part of the mess?” – Nora Bateson
This will be a series of five live conversation spaces led by experienced Warm Data hosts. They are held through a structured, experiential format that invites playfulness, storytelling and relationship building. Each week will focus on a different theme or question, weaving together to create an interrelated whole. All you need to bring is yourself, your curiosity and your stories. Everyone is welcome.
This series will be supported and co-hosted by Lottie Child, Shweta Sanjeev and Lisa Sattell
