Quakerism and Confucianism

How do Confucian spirituality and the Quaker way compare? We’ll hear from two Confucians about their tradition and personal practice, and consider how it is similar to and different from Quakerism.

Confucianism is an ancient Chinese tradition which, like Quakerism, provides a guide for daily living. Our two speakers will reflect on different aspects of the tradition, with Shumo Wang coming from a ministerial and academic perspective and Wenjun Zou speaking about her experience as a practitioner. Rhiannon Grant will offer some initial reflections from a Quaker viewpoint, and there will be time for questions and contributions from participants.
