An introduction to how Quakers have been portrayed in film and television from 1900 to the present day, looking at a number of different genres and identifying the common traits used to depict Quakers.


This session will include watching clips of films and TV programmes from American Westerns to modern day British detective dramas. It will build on Stephen Brooks’ chapter from The Quaker World (eds. Daniels and Grant, Routledge, 2022), ‘Representations of Quakers in Television and Film’.
