Refresh Your Quaker Role: grounding your service
14 March - 16 May
The live Zoom sessions are on Thursday 14 March and Thursday 16 May at 19:00-21:00 (UK time)
Are you a roleholder in need of spiritual refreshment? Are you part of a roleholding team who wish to ‘know each other in that which is eternal’? Join us to explore ideas and experience fresh ways to nurture spiritual life during Quaker service.
In this two-session online course, we will take time to consider how service and spirituality can support each other.
Starting by ‘Looking Within’ in the first session, we will share a range of practices that can offer spiritual nourishment for individual roleholder renewal.
In the second session, we will then move to ‘Looking Outwards’, focussing on practices that may either be used individually or that may be helpful to engage in with others in order to develop a deeper spiritual life amongst a small group of roleholders.
This session may be for you if you are:
- Serving in a Quaker role but feeling spiritually dry
- Giving service alongside others as part of a clerking/elder/pastoral care/nominations team
- Looking forward to how a future Quaker role can deepen your spiritual connection
- Wonderfully inspired by your Quaker role and happy to share that with others
Resources and references will be available to guide and support self-directed practice in the weeks between sessions.
