Monday 9 December 2024
19:00-21:00 (UK time)
Do you have too many tasks and not enough time? Are you interested in ways that Quaker roles can be done differently? Outlining alternative possibilities and paradigms, this session offers fresh ideas and inspiration.
This informal and informative session will give you an opportunity to explore how Quaker roles can be simplified to “release Friends’ energy to follow our leading” (BYM, Minute 17, 2023).
Through looking at examples, discussing alternative approaches and sharing experiences, you will feel more confident to find ways to consider simpler roles in your own context.
There will be a lively mixture of ideas, a few challenges, group discussion and Q&A exploring one of modern Quakerism’s recurring issues.
Jonathan Carmichael worked on the Simpler Meetings Project for Britain Yearly Meeting in 2018-2021.
A Resource Page is available to support this course. The link will be emailed to participants a week in advance, with a video to watch and reflect upon. You should allow about an hour for this.
