Spirit-Led Faith and Activism A Jewish Perspective

Woodbrooke and Miknaf Ha’aretz working in partnership.

How can we, as Quakers, learn from other faith traditions about Spirit-led action?

In this second session of our faith and activism series, we’ll be joined by the co-founders of the Jewish land justice collective Miknaf Ha’aretz, exploring how their connection to spirituality informs their activism.

What does it mean to build a spiritual and political community rooted in ecological justice? How can Jewish spirituality inspire approaches to food, farming, radical belonging and collective liberation? Miknaf Ha’aretz explores these questions not through theory, but through a lived practice of earth-tending, Jewish education, and community building.

In this 90-minute session, Sara Moon and Samson Hart will share their experiences of Spirit-led activism from a Jewish earth-based perspective. Through their insights, we’ll open a space for interfaith dialogue, reimagining how Quakers, Jews, and others might collaborate in building spiritually grounded movements for justice.

The session will include an interview with Sara and Samson, followed by time for personal reflection and an interactive Q&A. This event is open to everyone interested in the intersection of spirituality and activism – whether you’re Quaker, Jewish, or from another tradition.

This session is part of a pair exploring the relationship between faith and activism from different perspectives. We also invite you to join us for Spirit-Led? Faith and Activism: A Quaker Perspective on Tuesday 30 September, where we’ll explore these themes from a Quaker viewpoint.
