The Artists Way

Whatever your artistic practice, this course aims to build a safe non-hierarchical space of mutual support to help us all grow and flourish. The Artist’s Way serves to un-stifle the creative impulse and to liberate our inner artist.

Since 1992 this 12-week programme has been used everywhere from prisons to fine arts schools, working to demystify the artistic process. The method is rooted in the firm belief that every one of us has an inner source of creativity, that it can be watered, and it can bloom. Reconnection with this is a teachable spiritual practice, suitable for all.

We will be working through the exercises in The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and sharing our responses. Participants are invited to commit to regular readings, daily writing of morning pages, a weekly artists date and the fulfilment of each week’s tasks. To fully appreciate the commitment and benefits, please take a look at the book before signing onto the course.

There will be some material to look at before the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).
