The Gospel of Mary reveals a radical re-visioning of Christianity from a woman’s perspective nearly 2000 years ago, yet it’s non-conformist approach seems surprisingly modern. An ancient text, but what does it mean to each one of us today?

What makes us fully human? How do we experience vision? We explore some of the key terms using different translations, and share from our personal experience to deepen our understanding of the gospel together. Everyone’s unique perspective in this collaborative approach will enrich the bigger picture for all, and contribute towards another revised version of the text, planned for 2025.

The five online sessions will include a mixture of short lecture, focused reflection, sharing in break out rooms, and group discussion. There will be online reading material and a forum for ongoing conversations. The course would work well for students of previous Gospel of Mary study groups, but is equally accessible for those new to this remarkable text.

There will be some material to look at before the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).
