This course offers a parallel exploration of the teachings of Buddha and Jesus. Participants will be invited to consider the shared affirmations of love and truth that animate both the Way and the Dharma.
What shared spiritual insights might unite the teachings of Buddha and Jesus? And how can we perceive the wisdom of each tradition with fresh eyes? In this course, participants will be offered a rich array of stories, symbols and practices through which to explore the deep commonalities between Buddhist and Christian teachings. These sessions are intended for those who want to go deeper in their understanding of the Quaker Way or the Buddhist Path. Running through these topics will be focus on the spiritual treasures which allow us to grow in love, compassion, and insight. This course will appeal particularly to Friends who are engaged in Christian-Buddhist dialogue or who possess a Christian/Buddhist or Quaker/Buddhist identity.
There will be some material to look at before the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).
