Write From the Heart

There will be a focus on nurturing enjoyment in the writing process rather than achieving perfect prose. Coming together as a group will provide the opportunity for the nourishment of worship, shared reflection and discussion to stimulate new writing. Structured activities will support you to try new approaches to creative writing, to explore big ideas and to enjoy the process. Join us to write words that express your own experience – and that you may want to develop into stories, poetry or memoir.

Over the three sessions of this course, you will be encouraged to spend time outside the sessions developing your writing. In the final session there will be an opportunity to share a piece of writing with the group. As well as the three live sessions, there will be a forum for sharing written work, reflections and resources. This is provided for community sharing rather than as a space for critique. We also hope to offer optional ‘shared writing hours’ during the course – a Zoom room that will be available once or twice a week for communal silent writing.

There will be some material to look at before the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).
