Introducing Kelly Baker... Woodbrooke Quaker learning and researchWe are pleased to introduce Kelly Baker to Woodbrooke as the new Head Gardener.
Kelly has vast amounts of experience having worked at Knebworth House, RHS Wisley and the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. To help you to get to know Kelly a bit better, we have asked her some questions…

WB: Tell us a little about yourself and your role at Woodbrooke.
KB: I have recently started as Head Gardener at Woodbrooke, previously I have worked as an Operations Manager for Majestic Trees and Head Gardener for Knebworth House. I trained at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Birmingham Botanic Gardens.

WB: We’ve just jumped into spring, where should we start when thinking about creating a beautiful garden?
KB: Weed seeds have been lying dormant all winter waiting for it to warm up. If you can hit them now as they emerge, before they spread, then you will save yourself tenfold of weeding come the summer.

WB: What’s your favourite food?
KB: A Curry. What do you expect, I’m a Brummie!

WB: Give us a motivational one-liner?
KB: Growing is easy, just follow the instructions on the seed packet.
