The Future of British Quakerism

In October 2024 Friends met at Yarnfield Park in Staffordshire and online for The Future of British Quakerism conference, a partnership event between Woodbrooke and Quakers in Britain.

This gathering, featured keynotes from Paul Parker, Rhiannon Grant, Shena Deuchars, and Ben Pink Dandelion and invited attendees to reflect on questions such as: Where is British Quakerism heading? What do recent surveys reveal? What does it mean to be a Quaker in Britain today? In addition to keynote sessions, workshops focused on themes of Membership, Commitment, and Belonging; Theology and Identity; A Confident Quaker Voice; Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion; and Resources.

We are currently working to consider the best way to take the work started at the conference forward. In the meantime, recordings and resources from the event are available below for those who attended and the wider Quaker community.

The resources have been password protected as they are currently intended only for those who attended the conference and the wider community of Quakers in Britain. Those who were in attendance will have been sent the password in an email on 1 November. If you did not attend the conference but would like to access the resources please contact learning@woodbrooke.org.uk for the password.
