At present I am conducting research into the Quaker Renaissance of the late 19th century. I am concentrating on the role of John Wilhelm Rowntree on the development of the Liberal Quaker Agenda and how this is affected by his death in 1905.
Key topics: Manchester Conference 1895, Summer Schools, Quakers and Adult Education, the setting up of Woodbrooke, the writing of Quaker history.
About Barbara Sharrock:
I have been active amongst Quakers all my adult life. I have had an interest in studying Quaker history since it was an element in the Equipping for Ministry course. My M.A. in Quakerism in The Modern World prepared me for this further study into Quaker history and its continuing issues.
