At present I am conducting research into the Quaker Renaissance of the late 19th century. I am concentrating on the role of John Wilhelm Rowntree on the development of the Liberal Quaker Agenda and how this is affected by his death in 1905.

Key topics: Manchester Conference 1895, Summer Schools, Quakers and Adult Education, the setting up of Woodbrooke, the writing of Quaker history.
