Brian Blackmore is a Philadelphia-based Quaker educator, historian, activist, and community builder who currently serves as the Director of Quaker Engagement for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). He holds a Master of Arts and a Master of Sacred Theology from Chicago Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Temple University. He is the author of numerous publications including a recently released book with Brill publications To Hear and To Respond: The Quaker’s Groundbreaking Push for Gay Liberation, 1946-1973.
