After many years working ankle-deep in wood shavings, David Curtis (he/they) has finally laid down his tools to explore roads hitherto untravelled. Musician, scholar, storyteller, translator, builder of labyrinths and builder of communities. His pockets lined with buried treasure unearthed from dusty academic shelves. David gets excited about sharing the transformative power of these jewels of ancient wisdom for modern times.
David’s lines of enquiry are framed around our encounter with the Divine in this world, this body, this lifetime. A background in Tibetan Buddhism informs his current approach to rediscovered texts of the early Jesus movement, through themes of equanimity, compassion and impermanence. As clerk of Quaker Arts Network, David believes in the symbiotic partnership of creativity and spirituality. And as a facilitator, he seeks to hold a non-hierarchical space for all the different voices and perspectives in the room. David is said to bring “a childlike sense of wonder and curiosity” and an “approach which feels really life-affirming and encouraging,” whilst others have noted that his courses “may raise more questions than they answer” – let’s hope so!
