Gill Westcott is a member of West Somerset AM. She trained as an economist, has taught Comparative Economic Systems to undergraduates and trained peer educators about climate change in primary and secondary schools. She has marketed vegetables from a smallholding and helped found a Community Land Trust and other social enterprises. She has been involved with the Living Witness Project for many years and served on the QPSW Economics and Sustainability Sub-committee where she helped design the Quaker New Economy booklets. Her PhD in Politics looked at how issues of sustainability are dealt with by local government in the South West. She is a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance, a grandmother, and is a Mid Devon District Councillor.
