Nthabiseng Nkomo

Nthabiseng has over 20 years of experience working in conflict transformation, civic education, peacebuilding, policy influencing, migration and community development projects in Southern Africa. Her expertise is in navigating complex socio-political contexts, providing strategic direction, mediation, dispute resolution and working across different levels to form strategic partnerships. She manages relations with key stakeholders such as policy makers, regional bodies, government officials, donors, and community leaders both locally and regionally. By conducting regular socio-political analyses, she develops strategic objectives to ensure that programs remain relevant, efficient, and responsive to the operating context. She has successfully provided leadership and mentorship to local implementing partners and the AFSC country team towards the realization of the organization’s goals and objectives through efficient budget and resource management. She also doubles as the Interim DEI Manager for International Programs, covering the Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbeans and Middle East regions, a role she has held for 15 months. This role has enabled her to develop and implement strategies to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.

She is passionate about working with women, the youth, marginalized and underprivileged groups and communities, civil society organizations and faith-based actors for social change.

She holds a Masters with Merit Degree in Peace and Reconciliation Studies from Coventry University in the United Kingdom, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, apart from several postgraduate certificates in Leadership Management, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Monitoring & Evaluation, Financial Management, and Strategic Planning. She is an avid reader and writer who also enjoys trying out new recipes and traveling to new places.
