Pat Gerwat came to Quakers in the late 1960s and became a member a decade later. She taught English for five years, then had a family before working part time in further education. She was very active in the peace movement during the late seventies and early eighties, including travelling to the USA as one of ‘Mothers for Peace’. Later she embarked on a new career in information technology. She has co-written a book with her husband about his life as a deaf-blind person, and is now active in Leeds Area Meeting.
