Samuel Barber is a PhD student in History at the University of Manchester. Although Samuel’s thesis focuses on the medieval inquisition, his research interests extend into the early modern period, with a focus on religious dissent. In 2025, he received a grant from the University of Manchester to spend two months at Friends’ House Library, Euston, researching the history of Radcliffe Monthly Meeting in London. He now attends Bethnal Green local meeting, which is descended from the original Radcliffe meeting.
