In this live session we will explore the ways in which Quakers and other Christian groups were actively involved in and benefitted financially from the slave-based economic system of the British Empire. What does this tell us about Quaker history and what lessons can we learn?
This session is one of an ongoing series of sessions on Quakers, racism and colonialism, looking at the topic from a number of different aspects: theology, history and witness to peace and equality. When you register for this session, you will be given access to a resource page where recordings of all the sessions will be posted.
On the booking form, there is a chance for you to let us know about any accessibility or communication adjustments that will enable you to participate more fully in the course. Automated Zoom closed captions are available for all live sessions but if you feel you require more accurate closed captioning please email us directly in addition to booking.
