What is ‘The Gospel of Mary’, and what does it have in common with Quaker understandings? How can we best engage with this short but powerful text? This single live session offers a taster of the material to be covered in a forthcoming online course
The Gospel reveals an early Christian non-conformist tradition pointing to direct experience of the divine within, warning against excessive rules and regulations, and positively supporting the role of women in the church. Jesus is refreshingly presented as a wisdom teacher with strong Buddhist echoes, and Mary Magdalene as the disciple who best understood and embodied his teachings.
On the booking form, there is a chance for you to let us know about any accessibility or communication adjustments that will enable you to participate more fully in the course. Automated Zoom closed captions are available for all live sessions but if you feel you require more accurate closed captioning please email us directly in addition to booking.
