Have you ever wondered why Quakers are called Friends? If you look it up, you’ll see a few different reasons. Quakers were once called the Friends of the Truth, showing their focus on community and equality. They believed people could connect with God directly, without a priest or vicar. Early Friends often referred to what Jesus said in the book of John (15:14) in the New Testament: “You are my friends if you do what I command.”
