Friends in Residence

Friends in Residence are Quaker volunteers, whether members or attenders, who play a key role within the Woodbrooke community. They give service by ensuring continuity of worship, offering pastoral care to guests and course participants, and undertaking a wide variety of practical tasks.

Is this for you?

If you enjoy interacting with Quakers and non-Quakers alike, can work in a team, have good health and mobility, can handle early morning, late evening and overnight ‘on call’ duties, and have the capacity to learn how to use office technology, we would like to hear from you.

We offer stays of between two weeks and three months, with full board and lodging, reasonable travel costs and at least one day off each week.  There are around 200 ‘volunteer weeks’ to fill each year – could you be the right person to fill some of them?
