Robert Keeble is a life-long Quaker, originally from Come-to-Good Quaker Meeting in Cornwall, but for the last 30 years, he has been the Warden/Manager of the Quaker Meeting House in central Leeds and until recently, he also worked for the Department of Work and Pensions. After graduating with a degree in Economics and Geography at Plymouth, Robert was a Quaker Peace Service volunteer in Cape Town South Africa, which proved to be a ‘transformative’ experience. He was much inspired by his grandfather, Stanley Keeble, who established the Peace Tax Campaign and through research for the Leeds Quaker book about the First World War, Robert discovered more of his own ‘family history’ which included two Quaker great grandfathers who were Conscientious Objectors. Robert has been active as a campaigner, in the Faslane 365 protest, Roots of Resistance and most recently, in seeking climate justice.
