Evan Welkin

Evan Welkin (Olympia Monthly Meeting-North Pacific Yearly Meeting) is a graduate of the Quaker Leadership Scholars Program at Guilford College and the Young Adult Leadership Programme at Woodbrooke. He serves as the Communication and Networking Coordinator for the Friends World Committee for Consultation- Europe and Middle East Section, Global Coordinator for the Quaker-founded Permaculture for Refugees network, and co-founded Borgo Basino a folk school, ecovillage and permaculture-based farm in central Italy. He has worked with the Global Ecovillage Network, ECOLISE (the European Network for Community-Led Initiatives on Climate and Sustainability) and the Global Quaker Sustainability Network and holds a Masters in Ecological Design Thinking from Schumacher College.
