These days Peterson Toscano is known most for his podcast production. He is the host of a variety of podcasts including Quakers Today. But from 2003 to 2020 Peterson connected with audiences throughout North America, Europe, and Africa through his one-person comedies and lively lectures. His plays and talks humorously explored the serious topics of LGBTQ issues, sexism, racism, privilege, gender, and climate change.

Peterson is a recognized scholar who has highlighted gender variance in the Bible. His performance lectures garnered much attention and praise from Bible scholars. He presented Transfigurations–Transgressing Gender in the Bible at academic conferences, seminaries, universities, places of worship, and drag bars.
