Reading the Bible with Early Friends

During this day, we will look at how early Friends used the Bible, and consider what is distinctive about the Quaker approach. What does this tell us about the overall shape and orientation of Quaker spirituality?

In addition to looking at the general Quaker approach to the Bible, we will explore how early Friends read the text inwardly, and consider why the letters of Paul and John’s Gospel were so important. We will also try out a meeting for worship for Bible study.
